At casa Services, the main focus of our work includes providing comprehensive support packages for people with a disability, enabling them to live in the community as independently as possible.

Our programs include:

  • 24/7 Supported accommodation with qualified and professional carers
  • Short and Long term accommodation and respite
  • Home Based Support
  • Community Based Support
  • Centre Based Support

Casa Services primary business model is 24/7 Supported accommodation staffed by qualified and professional carers. Our houses range from active overnight to passive sleepover support in a 2, 3 or more bedroom home; and are able to cater to the needs of a broad range of participants including those with high mobility, personal care and behavioural requirements.

Casa Services currently run 14 houses, from both NT Housing and private rental stock in all areas throughout the Alice Springs community. We also have a fleet of vehicles (including some wheelchair accessible) that are available to assist with transportation where required.

Casa Services is also able to cater to short term accommodation requirements with as long-standing history of respite service provision for those wishing to access Alice springs from remote Northern Territory communities. Included in this service is culturally appropriate 1:1 care from qualified and professional staff, meals, community access and transport where possible.

Home and Community Support Program

Casa Services provides a range of in-home, community and centre based activities to suit the individual needs of the person with disability including:

  • active participation programs (formally, Day Program) including creative and artistic activities to help you express yourself
  • Social groups and recreation programs to get you out of the house and more involved in your community
  • Daily living skills such as budgeting, cooking etc. to foster your independence
  • Personal care programs
  • Helping you get involved in volunteering
  • Developing transport independence skills
  • Holiday planning
  • Individual support in your home

Community Based Support

Casa Services provides people with a flexible community access program, based on each person’s individual interests and needs, as well as providing families and carers with respite by supporting the person they care for.

We will support you in taking part in activities that you enjoy, giving you the opportunity to meet and mix with people who share your interests. That means you don’t have to attend a day program if you don’t want to. Examples of community participation that casa Services might help with are outings to the cinema, park or museum, perhaps playing a sport, shopping or joining a club.

We will find and match you with one of disability service employees based on your shared interests. Our aim is to support you to achieve your unique goals and aspirations and help increase your sense of independence as a valued and participating member of the community.

Centre Based Support

Our centre-based support program varies from day to day and includes activities, outings, as well as learning and development. Our qualified and caring staff will support you to make your own choices throughout the day, and you can participate in as many or as few activities as you wish. Along the way, you’ll meet others and have the chance to make new friends.

We have activities to suite almost any taste, including:

  • Swimming
  • Health and hygiene
  • Personal development
  • Art and craft
  • 10 pin bowling
  • Musical expression
  • Food preparation
  • Communication skills
  • Horticultural and gardening skills
  • Cycling
  • Computer skills
  • And much more!

Home Based Support

If you are living in your own home, it is possible that at some stage you may require some assistance to make life easier, or assistance to complete everyday activities that will enable you to continue living independently.

The supports available will depend on your goals, aspirations, needs and informal supports.

While there are services available, not everyone needs all of the supports available all the time, however some of the most commonly accessed types of support and assistance may include: domestic skills such as cleaning, personal care , meal preparation, home and garden maintenance, money skills development and more.

Not sure if these support services are covered in your NDIS plan?

Casa Service’s Home and Community Services program can align with the following Support Categories in your plan:

  • Assistance with daily living (core)
  • Assistance with Social and Community Participation (Core)
  • Improved Daily Living Skills (Capacity Building) *
  • Improved Learning (Capacity Building)
  • Increased Social and Community Participation (Capacity Building)

*this does not include access to allied health professionals or therapists
